Siding
Fiber cement, engineered wood and insulated vinyl, with the trim and flashing detailed to match the house.

Proud of it every time you pull in.
Siding, windows and doors for homes in Naperville and the western suburbs, installed so the house looks right and stays dry for decades.

We stay on the exterior, which is how the details that decide a job (flashing, reveals, trim returns) end up right.

Fiber cement, engineered wood and insulated vinyl, with the trim and flashing detailed to match the house.

Full-frame and insert replacements, measured on site and installed by the crew that measured them.

Entry, patio and storm doors set plumb, insulated, and finished so they still close easily in February.
Transformations
What neighbors wrote afterward.
They showed up when they said they would, cleaned up every evening, and the siding looks better than we pictured. Marek answered his phone every time we called.
We got three quotes and SmardBuild was the only one who walked the whole house and explained what was actually wrong. The finished trim work is what sold our neighbors on them too.
New windows on a 1970s house, no surprises on price. The crew was careful with the landscaping and the interior trim was finished the same day.
Start date held, finish date held. Photos every day so we knew what was happening even when we were at work.
Hardie siding and a new front door. They caught rot behind the old siding, showed us photos, and fixed it for what they said it would cost.
Honest people. When something needed a second visit they came back without us having to chase them.

Marek started in the trades in 2000 and founded SmardBuild in 2006. The houses we work on are houses he drives past, and he treats them that way.
When something is off, there is one person accountable for it, and he is not hard to reach. That is most of what people are actually buying when they hire a family-owned company.
A siding job looks much the same on day one whether or not it was done right. These four details are where the difference shows up later, and where we spend the extra hours.

Head flashing, kickouts and taped seams go in before anything decorative. Water gets a path out of the wall instead of into it.

Consistent exposure course to course, and honest transitions where materials meet. It's what makes a wall read as one plane.

The right sealant in the right joint, tooled properly. Wrong caulk in the wrong gap is the most common reason a new window still drafts.

Returns wrapped rather than cut off square, and end grain sealed. Edges are where paint fails first.
Four steps, from the first walkthrough to the last one.

We look at what's failing and what's fine, and take our own measurements.
Materials named, quantities listed, one price. No line items you can't read.
Factory-trained crews, a start date you can plan around, and photo updates each day.
We go around the house with you before the last invoice.

Two years ago when we moved in, we definitely did not like the exterior of our house, but now we can proudly say that we love where we live.
The workmanship is awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm so glad.
It was a beautiful experience and I recommend them highly to anybody who wants work done by their house.
Quality product at a fair price, done the right way with a good company.
Craftsmanship was excellent and we're very happy with how everything turned out.
We are so pleased with how the project turned out. We would highly recommend the company and would absolutely work with them again.
Marek has worked in the trades since 2000. The judgment calls on an older house come from having made them before.
The same family has run SmardBuild for two decades. The person who quotes the job is accountable for it.
Our workmanship is covered by a written labor guarantee, separate from the manufacturer warranties on the materials themselves.
Where we work.
If yours is not here, ask when we walk the house.
Most houses take one to two weeks on site, depending on size, the material, and how much trim work goes with it. We give you a start date and a realistic finish date before the job begins, not a range that keeps moving.
Yes. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections for every municipality we work in, and the cost is stated in the estimate rather than added later.
Materials named by brand and product, quantities, labor, permits, disposal, and one price. If something is excluded, it says so on the same page.
We do. We can meet the adjuster on site, document the damage, and provide a scope written the way carriers expect to see it.
Usually. Matching depends on how old the existing siding is and whether the profile is still made. We will tell you honestly when a clean match is not possible and what the alternatives look like.
Call the office and we come back. Workmanship is covered by our labor guarantee, and material defects fall under the manufacturer warranty, which we help you file.
An hour on site, an honest look at what needs doing, and an exterior you'll be glad to see at the end of the driveway.
